1. Experience – Rainier’s roots go back to the Alaskan Gold Rush; we were founded in 1896 as Puget Sound Tent & Awning. We merged with Seattle Tent & Awning in 1985 and subsequently changed our name to Rainier. We are the only awning supplier in the Northwest that has been satisfying customers for over 112 years!

13. Sunbrella Fabrics – Rainier offers a wide variety of quality fabrics and feature Sunbrella – the best and longest lasting awning fabrics. Sunbrella is a 100% solution dyed acrylic fabric which is fabricated with durable, long-lasting Gortex thread.
14. Solar Protection – In addition to providing protection from fading, screens and awnings provide UV protection to aid in the prevention of sun damage to skin. Sunbrella brand fabrics have been awarded the Seal of Recommendation from the Skin Cancer Foundation.
15. Somfy Motors – Motorized retractable awnings and shades from Rainier feature motors and controls manufactured by Somfy, the world leader in tubular motors. Motorized shade systems provide convenience and greater satisfaction for our clients.
16. Licensed Electrical Contractor – Rainier is a licensed General Electrical Contractor (Washington State License # RAINIIL948QF). If electrical work is required for your new awning or screen, you are assured it is properly permitted and installed by a licensed electrician. We have two full time journeyman electricians on staff that are fully versed in electrical controls for awnings and shades. We provide safe and legal electrical connections for electrical controls.
17. Quality Management System – Rainier is an ISO 9001:2000 registered company; our registration is through TUV Rheinland of North America. We are the only Seattle area awning supplier that has a formal quality system focused on continuous improvement to our product quality and customer satisfaction levels.

19. PAMA/IFAI – Rainier is the only significant
residential supplier in the Pacific Northwest that is both a member of the Professional Awning Manufacturers Association (PAMA) and PAMA’s parent organization, the Industrial Fabric Association International (IFAI).
